"Ensuring Our Legacy: Reunion, Renewal, Remembrance"

Inviting "All" Marine Corps Tankers from "All" Eras.

"It's a family thing."

Wives, Daughters, Sisters,  Brothers

and Others are encouraged to attend.

The 5th Biennial Reunion, August 19-23, 2007 at the Sahara Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas, NV.

This was our biggest reunion yet with close to 170 attendees.  Some brought their wives or girlfriends and guest's.  "Sgt. Grit" had a special room set up with two young ladies representatives and they had made up a special Tee Shirt designed for us.

Sunday was arrival and registration day (although people arrived throughout the reunion) and the "Tun Tavern" Hospitality Room was open every day.

Monday was our Hoover Dam Tour, quite a place to see.  Then our Business Meeting.  Rhea Hambright won the drawing for a free room.
And that evening we went to the "60,s Music Review", that was quite a show.

Tuesday we went to the "Leatherneck Club", the Marine Corps League Club.  There we had a great BBQ and held our "Reunion Auction".

Wednesday was our "Pistol Shoot" at Nellis Air Force Base.  Fred Kellogg Jr. (son of member Fred Kellogg) was the high shooter with a near perfect score of 199 (probably had a 200 with such a tight group that one was a double tap).  Second was the son of another member John Bartusevics Jr..  At least one VN Tanker got on the score board C.B. Doten came in third (he did the same at a shoot out in Coos Bay, OR.)
That evening we held our "Reunion Banquet" and Bob Peavey went above and beyond with his "Fallen Heroes Presentation".  Captain Michael Wunsch (KIA) was one of the honorees.  Ken Zitz had taped an interview with Ollie North honoring Captain Wunsch that was presented. Greg Weaver was another honoree (and the only one buried at Arlington).  Jerry Clark was another one (he was the founder of our Buddy Fund). Legend Gunny Siva was again honored (with a lot of sea stories about him).  There were quite a few family members of the "Fallen Heroes"
honorees in attendance.

Thursday was departure day and as we left we all could remember the one's that could not make it this year for whatever reason.

Hoover Dam

If you haven't seen it, it is quite a sight to see, and an engineering feat.  The new bridge that is being built below the dam is another marvel in it's self.

Greg Martin's Private Tour.

It would seem that Greg made friends with some of the German Air Force people that were staying at the same hotel as we were, and got a private tour by them.
