"Ensuring Our Legacy: Reunion, Renewal, Remembrance"

Inviting "All" Marine Corps Tankers from "All" Eras.

"It's a family thing."

Wives, Daughters, Sisters,  Brothers

and Others are encouraged to attend.

This was our biggest reunion yet with close to 170 attendees.  Some brought their wives or girlfriends and guest's.  "Sgt. Grit" had a table set up with two young ladies representatives and they had made up a special Tee Shirt designed for us.

Wednesday was arrival and registration day (although people arrived throughout the reunion) and the "Tun Tavern" Hospitality Room was open every day.

Thursday there was a business meeting and new officers and some new board members were announced.  After nine plus years Dick Carey stepped down as President and Bill Wright took over the job.  John Wear moved up to Vice President, Ned Schultz is the Treasurer and Carl Fleischman is the new Secretary.  Garry Hall and Carl Ludeke are two new Board Members.  The ladies also had a meeting and a Representative from the V.A. attended both meeting and gave out some good information to all concerned.

After the meetings we boarded busses and went to Aberdeen Proving Grounds.  We had a great lunch at the "Top of the Bay Club" then toured the Ordinance Museum.  Then it was back to the hotel.

Friday, it was back aboard the busses.  This time it was for a tour of the USS New Jersey.  This was a great tour and we got our "Group Photo" taken aboard the ship.  Later that day we toured the Liberty Bell and some of the historic sites of Philly including the Independence Seaport Museum.  That night in the Hospitality Room we had our "Auction" which is always a lot of fun and a great fund raiser for the association.

Saturday was a free day so you could just hang out in the Hospitality Room or go see the sights on your own.  That night we had our Farewell Dinner.  Col. Charles Waterhouse USMC (Ret.) was going to be our guest speaker, but had taken sick that morning.  We were fortunate to get Lt. Cdr. Richard "Dick" Zuley USNR to speak about his service in "Gitmo" as an "Interrogator".

Bob Peavey once again did himself proud with an outstanding "Fallen Heroes" presentation.  This year we even had some of the honorees family members present.

Sunday was departure day, and as we said our farewell's and have a safe trip we were already looking forward to 2007.
